Some of the highlights of the plan include:
• An amphitheater for larger community gatherings and events; • Coordination of access, circulation and parking with the surrounding City-owned land; • A central plaza for other public gatherings and events; • An open green or “meadow;” • Play areas for a variety of uses, such as “destination” play using sculptural elements; • A water play feature and climbing wall; • A demonstration garden along the internal path and entry areas featuring examples of native Colorado vegetation and plant communities; • A loop trail with future access to Lone Tree Creek and Cherry Creek State Park; • A viewing area for observation of mountain and Front Range views; • An entry gateway that features vistas of the site and mountain views; • Creation of a sequence of connected “rooms” within the site using topography and landscape forms to add interest and enhance the user experience; • A low berm and landscaping along Arapahoe Road to screen road noise while still allowing views into the site; and • A variety of landscaping including turf and xeric plantings. Turf would be limited to highuse areas, with native and xeric planting along ridges and low-use areas to minimize maintenance costs.

Over the past few years, I have seen my mother-in-law and my dad struggle with cancer. My mother-in-law won her battle, but my dad did not. That's why I've decided to take action against cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® event right here in Centennial.
The picture on the left is of my son, Rio and the luminaria that we lit in honor of my Dad at last year’s Relay for Life. Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings our community together to help support the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Society works hard every day to prevent cancer and save lives by supporting groundbreaking research, affecting public policies that protect us from cancer, and educating people on how to prevent or detect cancer early. The Society helps people with cancer right here in our own community.
And our efforts at Relay For Life can help the American Cancer Society to keep working toward a cancer-free future. I want to invite you to show your support in the ongoing fight against cancer by joining us for this year's event.
Centennial’s Relay for life will be at Arapahoe High School (Arapahoe and Dry Creek) this Friday (June 12th). We hope to see you there! Some key event times are: Opening Ceremony/Survivor’s Lap is at 6pm on Friday; Luminaria Ceremony is at 9pm; Closing Ceremony is at 8am on Saturday.
If you can't join us, will you please visit the site and make a donation to support our efforts? Either way, you will make a real difference in the lives of people facing cancer and in the lives of the people who love them. Thank you!
